The candidate must work in the office three days a week. The supervisor and business needs will determine the hybrid schedule. Compensation: Annual Salary/Hourly Rate: $59,000 - $75,000/annual Note: Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications Position Summary: The Mainframe Administrator will analyze OTIS and Agency needs within the Mainframe security solution and manage the lifecycle of those security ID's. The Mainframe Administrator will be responsible for working with the Mainframe Services Manager to align the future security and software title needs of the OITS Mainframe service with the needs of the State of Kansas Agencies. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Mainframe technology and security. The Mainframe Administrator will provide lead technical expertise to the design, management, and maintenance of the Top-Secret security solution for the OITS hosted mainframe service with Ensono. The Mainframe Administrator will work with Customer Agencies to align Agency staff with the correct security profiles in working on and developing Mainframe solutions for State of Kansas Agencies. Will work with the OITS solution partner in aligning the correct security profiles for partner staff. Additionally, will work under the direction of the Mainframe Services Manager to align the overall system logging and monitoring to effectively meet the needs of OITS and State of Kansas Agencies as well as align the forward strategy for Mainframe software titles to effectively meet the needs of OITS and State of Kansas Agencies. Required Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Ability to communicate solutions with customers, verbal and written, including Executive branch Directors and CIO's Must be able to research technical manuals, internet support sites and communicate with the users, vendors, and other on-site technical personnel Performing this job requires troubleshooting skills, organizational skills, good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail Proactive and self-directed in managing tasks and responsibilities Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and external partners. Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion Demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and work effectively under pressure Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent experience of three (3) to five (5) years in Mainframe Solutions required Three (3) to Five (5) years general Mainframe management and monitoring experience preferred Advanced knowledge and expertise in utilizing Top Secret Mainframe security solutions preferred Necessary Special Requirements: Ability to obtain and retain an OITS Security and KCJIS clearances are requirement of employment and continued employment.
