The candidate must work in the office three days a week. The supervisor and business needs will determine the hybrid schedule. Compensation: Annual Salary/Hourly Rate: $70,000 to $80,000 / annual Note: Salary can vary depending upon education, experience, or qualifications Position Summary: The Technical Project Manager (TPM) leads, oversees, and ensures the successful delivery and management of single or multiple technical projects within the Kansas Information Security Office (KISO). The TPM will manage projects within scope, quality, time, and cost constraints, dynamically adapting to deliver business value. This position reports to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Executive Branch. Responsibilities and Duties Facilitate the gathering and validation of project requirements. Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required activities and tasks. Develop and maintain detailed work plans and project timelines. Establish work plans and staffing for project phases, arranging for recruitment or assignment of project personnel. Direct and coordinate project activities to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget. Analyze project progress and adapt timelines to achieve maximum benefit. Analyzes risks and provides regular updates to CISO, regarding projects status and any problems or potential problems. Takes proactive steps to minimize delays in delivery. Develop and execute project resource plans, ensuring the right people are in place at the right time. Set and track project milestones; manage unforeseen delays and realign schedules as needed. Develops and communicates detailed specifications for implementation. Negotiates plans and timeframes, ensuring that relevant stakeholders understand the anticipated results. Implement and manage project communication plans. Regularly communicate with technical teams, cross-departmental stakeholders, and other stakeholders to arrange meetings, confirm project schedules, and address any issues. Monitor project activities to ensure the quality and integrity of information. Create and maintain comprehensive project management documentation. Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation. Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project lifecycle. Provide status updates to affected staff and stakeholders, ensuring that project goals are aligned with business objectives. Monitor project activities, ensuring the currency, quality, and integrity of information, while providing consistency in content and look and feel across the organization. Ensure that project goals are achieved. All other duties as assigned. Required skills: 2-3 years of technical project management experience with a thorough understanding of project management principles and IT practices Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, Agile) PMP certification or the ability to obtain it within one year of hire Experience with or familiarity of cybersecurity Knowledge and experience using project management software and tools Proficient with, or able to quickly become proficient with, a range of applications, software, and hardware used in the organization Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills Exceptional organizational skills with great attention to detail Strong analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources Strong customer service skills and the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence Ability to adapt to changing business environments and circumstances Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of stakeholder trust and confidence Ability to lead and motivate others, empathize, and understand different personality types Qualifications: Associate's Degree in information technology, cybersecurity, business, or related field required Ability to obtain and retain an OITS Security Clearance and a Kansas KCJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) Security Clearance Ability to obtain a valid Kansas Certificate of Tax Clearance Disqualification Criteria: Felony convictions, felony deferred adjudication, Class A misdemeanor deferred adjudication, Class B misdemeanor convictions less than 10 years old, or an open arrest for any criminal offense. Necessary Special Requirements: Ability to obtain and retain an OITS Security and KCJIS clearances are requirement of employment and continued employment.
