The agency and its staff protect and preserve New Mexico's public records - records that in turn protect and preserve the rights of its citizens and contribute to an efficient and open State government by providing a records management system for the State's public records, by filing and maintaining the State's rules, and by providing or advocating access to the State's public and historical records.

Telework up to three (3) days a week is available as an option for this position.

Why does the job exist?

This position is critical to protecting the agency's information assets and ensuring the coordination of all IT security policies and procedures such as access limitations, security screening, and business continuity planning. In addition to providing day-to-day support for the agency's mission-critical applications, this position is responsible for managing the division, for assigning and directing the work of the other two staff and for developing and administering the IT budget.

How does it get done?

Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:- Financial accountability with providing budget data projections each fiscal year for IT specific purchases related to day-to-day operations and maintenance agreement contracts for both hardware and software projects- Supervising of two employees (FTEs) ensuring the day-to-day operations of all IT related concerns are met in a quick and efficient manner that include tracking ongoing projects and assign duties as needed, perform employee evaluations- Participation in short- and long-term strategic planning sessions regarding IT involvement with each division, managing IT assets, while identifying and tracking performance measures for projects- Backup for all IT functions that may include web management, server monitoring and maintenance, database knowledge and administration

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:- Supervisory/management experience- Excellent organizational, leadership, organizational, and delegation skills- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with senior management and division directors- Ability to work independently and in a team environment- Knowledge of computer systems and programs, including MS Windows Server, VMWare, webpage development, and network administration- Experience implementing cybersecurity best practices- Word Press experience preferred, but not required

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree four (4) years of experience in at least two of the following areas: Applications Development, IT Architecture, Data Management, Network Administration, Project Management, IT Security/Compliance, or Systems Administration. Employment Requirements

Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Some travel may be required. Occasionally work extra hours, on weekends and holidays.
