Micron's Compute Networking Business Unit is hiring an Applications Engineer to be based in Boise, ID or San Jose, CA!

The Application Engineers will be the technical lead for Micron customers and field teams! You will nurture customer relationships and design documentation including data sheets, white papers and be the primary contact for questions related to specifications of a device. You are responsible for enabling Micron's DRAM technology in various market segments by reviewing designs, answering customer questions and debugging problems with new systems. In this role, present presentations, demonstrations and customer trainings, and support JEDEC and other standard-setting organizations' activities.

Job Responsibilities and Tasks - Develop internal design documentation for products working with Design Engineering on feasibility of new product ideas, features and specs - Develop & validate new product capabilities and customer specific requirements, working with PE/QA and Design - Define customer requirements for related products, working with marketing - Maintain customer data sheets and technical DRAM product notes - Work on internal white papers covering technical issues that have an effect on other departments

- Support marketing communications to provide updates on technical collateral generation

Technical training, presentations and design tools - Develop and deliver training to customers, enablers, internal engineering teams, Marketing, Sales and FAE's - Present at technical conferences covering new and future product ideas - Develop and present current and future issues and concerns as they relate to DRAM products -Design tools that can be used by Micron customers to for DRAM products into their designs - Coordinate and drive technical content for customer Quarterly Technical Reviews (QTRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)

Lead and provide technical customer support - Review designs from customers and analyze to understand customer's technical and logistical issues, and act as liaison between the customer and internal Micron resources (Engineering, Sale, Marketing) - Support new product bring up issues and support the Product Change Notice (PCN) process - Evaluate and represent Micron's position for legal (i.e., archive research, depositions, technical evaluation review for patent depositions)

Enable DRAM products - Responsible for external and internal qualifications - Act as primary point of contact for all technical questions from internal/external customers relating to how a device works or how it is used - Review customer designs prior to hardware including schematics, board files, simulations, power usage, and thermal analysis -Partner with customers to enable die shrinks with existing customer products - Enable new product technologies

Define new products

- Work with customers and enablers on product requirements

- Work with engineering teams for product feasibility and define form, fit and function, including Marketing for market feasibility

Required Skills

-

BSEE/BSCE or equivalent and 5+ years of DRAM experience (Design, Product or Testing Engineering background)

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal

- Strong presentation skills. Can convey sophisticated technical concepts to peers and customers in a succinct and accurate manner

- Ability to maintain positive relationships with colleagues and external customers and partners

- Ability to understand and debug technical problems

Favorable Skills

- Knowledgeable about Micron's testing philosophy and documentation

- Develop/maintain documents in Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator and .dita XML

- Experience with Verilog, HSPICE, thermal modeling and PDN analysis

- Experience in schematic review and PCB layout, and an understanding of the functionality of non-memory DIMM active components

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$101,000.00 - $301,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
