Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead our client's accounting team and oversee the company's financial processes. As the Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and driving financial efficiency. Compensation: $95,000 - $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Location: Hartford, CT - on-site

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all general accounting functions, including the general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to produce financial reports and budgets.
  • Support the external audit process by preparing financial documentation and coordinating with auditors.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development.
  • Drive process improvements and identify efficiencies to enhance the company's accounting operations as the Accounting Manager

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role as an Accounting Manager or similar.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and internal controls.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required
