Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Application Administrators provide tactical support and services for specific applications. They provide configuration services, troubleshoot and seek resolution for application issues/defects and participate in exploring and planning potential improvements. Application Administrators act as the solution administrator for most key solutions, whether on premise or a SaaS model.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
35% - Operational Support: End-UserAddress production issues and problems from business and product vendors escalated from tier 1 support by providing tier 2 expertise resulting in reduced business impact of incidents by timely resolutionSupport activities include investigation, diagnosis, incident resolution/recovery, identification of acceptable workaround, and follow proper incident closure procedures for knowledge and reporting/metric purposes30% - Operational Support: Administration
Configure the application and maintaining appropriate documentation and versioning changesPerform business approved security and role administration requestsProvide technical consultation with business and vendorsIdentifying and resolving ongoing application problems15% - Improvements: Enhancements & Releases
Support internal and vendor roadmap development and execution efforts, actively participating in enhancement/improvement efforts; including project supportProvide entry-level quality assurance and validation of vendor software releases/patches and approved configuration changes to ensure a successful service transition10% - Improvements: Process & Administration
Administer and maintain documented processes and procedures to manage package configurations and security settings to encompass various usage scenarios10% - Data Management: Development & Quality Assurance
Support quality assurance activities to ensure an efficient, reliable and secure business applicationPerform periodic reviews to identify system and data improvement opportunitiesDocument and curate knowledge relating to the management and support of the application/platformMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Educational/Experience Requirements:
Four-year college degree in a related field, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience in related fieldA minimum of 2 years' IT experience desiredExperience supporting users and working with business applications preferredRequired Technical Skills/Knowledge:
Exhibiting moderate breadth/depth of experience and knowledge performing application system administration duties.Basic knowledge of system development methodologies and configuration managementBasic knowledge of productivity applications (Google Applications, MS Office, etc.)Physical Requirements:
Primarily desk position; regularly required to sit, occasionally required to stand and walk. Requires frequent and repetitive use of hands and fingers to operate computer, mouse, keyboard, and office related equipment and the ability to reach with hands and arms. Position requires lifting no more than 10 pounds on a regular basis. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close visual acuity and the ability to adjust focus. Requires the ability to communicate verbally and exchange information over the phone and in person.
Work Environment:
Office, non-manual work; the worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. Working on-call is required for this position, including but not limited to: evenings, weekends, and holidays.
