Mayo Clinic seeks a medical oncologist at the assistant/associate professor level to join its Division of Medical Oncology to work in our Minnesota practice site. The successful physician would be employed as a member of the Mayo Clinic Rochester staff and would be located in one of our affiliated regional practices.Job DescriptionPresently, the practice consists of 4 medical oncologists. This practice is a part of Mayo Health System operations with close collaboration with colleagues based in Rochester. Opportunities exist for participation in treatment protocols and protocol development in the North Central Cancer Treatment Group. The new Cancer Center was completed in 2010.Salary will be determined by the successful candidate's experience. There is an attractive benefit package. Mayo's large outpatient clinical base, in conjunction with its strong institutional educational commitment, provides excellent opportunities for clinical investigations.RequirementsThe successful applicant will be a skilled clinician board-certified or board-eligible in medical oncology (required) and hematology (desirable) that will be expected to provide diagnosis and treatment for common hematologic and oncologic problems.CommunityThe city has a population of 50,000. The local colleges bring another 15,000 residents. The city has exceptional school systems rated in the top 16% in the Nation and is a progressive college community. It is a regional retail and business hub.
