About the role

As an integral part of the Securities Processing Operations team, the Corporate Actions Associate under minimal supervision, responds to inquiries, processes, balances and reconciles client and firm positions, related to highly complex corporate actions, which may include both domestic and foreign issues. These actions may be considered either "voluntary", e.g., exchange offers, election mergers, tenders, rights exercises or "mandatory", e.g., dividend and interest allocations, reverse splits, mergers, plan of reorganizations, sale/liquidation of Unit Investment Trusts and class action lawsuits. Requires interpretation of legal materials to complete the process. May be required to provide training, guidance, and assistance to other associates as needed. Extensive interaction with internal and external contacts is required to identify, research, and resolve problems.

What you'll do

Process Voluntary and Mandatory Corporate actions and Dividends timely and accurately.review and investigate client inquiries and provide resolution in a timely manner.Process end-to-end corporate action event life cycle across cash, non-cash and elective events for all equity and fixed income securities including processing client elections for voluntary corporate actions.Interact with internal partners and external parties, including custodians, transfer agents and contra firms, to facilitate processing of transactions including following up with depositories and agents for missing corporate action information and processing updates.Perform key reconciliation and control tasks to support processing of the corporate action lifecycle and break management.Identify process improvements, shortfalls, and control gaps, and work with the management team to propose effective solutions.Identify and manage risk within the events and processes through the appropriate application of procedural requirements.Manage events in various web-based platforms; appropriately escalating issues to team management.Anticipate issues that may adversely affect Operations and proposing possible solutions including communicating with vendors and custodians to resolve issues and improve service levels.Understand the implication of processes on other groups and downstream systems and function as the "technical" expert in their assigned area.Qualifications

2-3 years' experience processing corporation actions back office clearing environment.Series 99 required, if not held, must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire.Experience processing Dividends is preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills along with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.Be self-reliant and results oriented.Possess a basic knowledge of Equity and Fixed Income products.Able to learn quickly and be adaptable to a changing environment.Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate and complete records.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment, with conflicting demands and under tight deadlines.Proficiency working with Excel, Outlook, and web-based applications.What we offer
