For start dates 4+ weeks out, must have started the licensing process to be submitted. Certifications: Please see job description and unit description for the list of required certifications. Must-Have: Nurses with Med Surg experience must be okay with behavioral health/patient population. Job Description: - Effective 11/30/24, certain restrictions apply to contracts.- This unit is a secured medical unit. Patients admitted typically have a primary medical diagnosis along with a history of mental illness.- Nurses will care for patients experiencing alcohol withdrawal, history of IV drug use, dementia, aggressive behaviors, and common med/surg care needs.- Flexibility with weekend requirements; travelers must work 50% of weekends during their contract.- Teaching facilities require agreement to possibly precept and/or have students shadow during assignments.- Shift requirements allow for 4x12 or 3x12.- Call-ins must be made up during the pay period or at the end of the contract, depending on the full-time equivalent (FTE) status.- Charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with training and resources provided.- Floating to different care levels (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) may be expected with resources provided.- Modules are non-billable, with an average of 6-12 hours to complete pre-start, reported via the online learning system.- Flu vaccine is required with medical/religious exemptions only.- Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays and adhere to specified requirements for travel compliance and licensing.
