About the RoleAs a Senior Formulation Chemist, you will be an integral part of the Product Development team at JPMS. Reporting to the EVP of Research & Development, you will focus on formulating innovative hair color, care and styling concepts, lines and reactive products.
What You Will Do :Innovation & Collaboration :Develop new hair colors, care and styling formulations, setting new industry standards for quality and innovationCreate prototypes, monitor pilots to full-scale production, ensuring the transition is efficient, cost-effective, and adheres to the highest quality standardsCollaborate with a diverse array of cross functional teams ensuring hair color product development aligns with market demands and company goalsDrive the pursuit of hair color, care and styling innovations, leveraging deep industry knowledge and analytical skills to keep JPMS at the forefront of professional hair color, care and stylingLaboratory Analysis :Maintain strict compliance with GMP and GLP standards in the lab, championing best practices in every aspect of the formulation processTravel when necessary to our JPMS Manufacturing facility, and third-party contract manufacturers to support production team with scale up of new formulation, compounding/production issues, QC issues, etc.Troubleshoot formula, shade and raw material issues, finding replacements whenever necessaryWork on-site at JPMS Product Innovation Center and new product laboratoryPerform all relevant formula related testingData Management:Facilitate upstream communication collaboration with teamMonitor and ensure the quality of all new products in terms of stability, compatibility, micro, safety, and regulatory requirementsWho You Are:Have a strong work ethic and can-do attitude, leaving a positive impression on everyone you interact withCollaborate seamlessly with cross-functional stakeholders, fostering a cohesive team environmentStrong time management skills and able to act with a sense of urgencyHighly organized, detail oriented and efficient multitaskerSelf-starter and thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidanceComfortable wearing many hats and moving fluidly between tasksUtilize relevant industry jargon and terminology consistently in both verbal and written communicationsAct and propose new ideas and solutions before askedYou are positive, upbeat, and friendly—with a can-do attitude and a knack for solving problemsSelf-described beauty enthusiast, passionate about hair careRequirements:
What You'll Need:Skills:Formulation skills in all hair color, care and styling technologiesRaw material knowledge (especially dyes), FDA/EU/UK cosmetic directive guidelinesColor perception and color matching skillsStrong knowledge and understanding of compounding/production equipment and facilitiesDemonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, always looking for ways to improve and promote qualityObserve safety and security procedures, determine appropriate action beyond guidelines, report potentially unsafe conditions and use equipment and materials properlyEducation :Bachelor's degree in science (i.e. chemistry, cosmetic chemistry, chemical engineering or related science) requiredExperience :5+ years' work experience in professional hair color formulation required7+ years' work experience in professional hair color formulation strongly preferredCompetitive Compensation:The expected
base salary range
for this position is
$100,000 to $120,000 . The exact base salary is determined by various factors including geographic location, experience, skills, and education.Discretionary Bonus Plan:
This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.Comprehensive Benefits Package:
