Are you an experienced Accounting Manager with a knack for strategic planning and financial management? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you in the Construction industry. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to lead our accounting team. This is a permanent position that requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
As an Accounting Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the daily operations of our accounting department. This includes:
- Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department including project costing, invoice coding, and reconciliations.
- Completing monthly close procedures and preparing financial statements.
- Maintaining and controlling the General Ledger accounts and business transactions, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Developing and implementing accounting policies, coordination of systems and procedures, and preparing operating data and special reports as required.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of strategic plans.
- Managing the financial planning and budgeting processes.
- Evaluating and managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
- Working closely with the management team to share reports and analysis findings.
- Mentoring, training, and developing the accounting staff to grow within their roles and meet the objectives and goals of the department.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in accounting within the construction industry and possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting Manager role or similar.
- Proven experience with project costing, invoice coding, reconciliations, completing monthly close procedures, and managing the General Ledger.
- Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong ability in strategic planning and financial management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership qualities and experience in managing a team.
- Proficiency with accounting software, Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to analyze and interpret data.
- CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
