Job Details

The Operations Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting related to our upstream operations, including revenue recognition, cost allocation, financial analysis, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Operations Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, optimize financial performance, and drive business growth.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Manage and oversee all accounting activities related to operations accounting functions including revenue, JIB, and accounts payable and maintain a direct link to financial accounting.
  • Manage and oversee preparation of sales/use tax reporting.
  • Assist in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes related to capital investments, cost management, and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis relating to operational revenues and costs.
  • Review and analyze operational financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external audits, providing documentation, explanations, and support as needed.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting support for internal and external requests (LOS statements, AFE variance analysis, budget vs actual, gas analysis).

Education and Experience (required):

  • 8+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience working in upstream oil & gas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 360; advanced user of Excel.
  • Experience using BOLO, OpenInvoice and Energy Link
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
