401k match Generous PTO plan Report to Controller offering growth and developmentJob DetailsJob Details:We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to join our team in the Construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional looking to contribute their expertise to a growing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial information, ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, and assisting in the development of internal control policies and procedures.Responsibilities:1. Assist in the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including footnotes.2. Oversee the balance sheet reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.3. Manage the month-end close process, including the review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations.4. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and manage financial audits.5. Provide technical accounting guidance and support to the accounting team and other departments as needed.6. Assist in the development and implementation of internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and prevent fraud.7. Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process, providing financial insights and recommendations.8. Collaborate with other departments to support overall department goals and objectives.9. Train and mentor junior staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.10. Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards, ensuring the company's financial practices remain compliant.Qualifications:1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA designation is preferred.2. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Construction industry.3. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.4. Proven experience in balance sheet reporting, month-end close, and financial audits.5. Advanced proficiency in technical accounting and preparation of financial statements.6. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.7. Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor junior staff.8. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.10.
