Career Opportunities with Collaborative Solutions for CommunitiesA great place to work.Careers At Collaborative Solutions for CommunitiesCurrent job opportunities are posted here as they become available.The Director, under the general supervision of the Executive Director, is responsible for day to day accounting activities, including payroll, general property accounting, cash receipts, budget controls, account reconciliations, invoices, general ledger review and posting, and financial reports and analysis. The position is assisted by the Junior Accountant who will assist the incumbent in the areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation and recordkeeping.

Principal Accountabilities

Manages and processes payroll.Oversees the integrity of financial data by reviewing the general ledger, posting journal entries, ensuring revenue and expenses are recognized according to accounting standards.Make sound investment decisions to increase a company’s portfolio.Prepare and outline complex models into simple terms that others can work with.Monitor the performance of investments including creating reports using business software.Analyze trends to reduce financial risks associated with making investment or spending decisions.Have a strong understanding of fiscal policy and investment regulations.Monitors cash balances.Oversees preparation of backup documentation for billings for invoices for various contracts.Reviews budget to assist the Executive Director in financial projections.Assists in preparation of budgets and budget narratives for projects and funding proposals.Prepares and assists in the preparation of financial reports.Prepares schedules for annual audit and organization tax return.Additional Skills

Excellent mathematical and analysis skills.Ability to lead departments and individuals.Verbal and written communication skills to create reports and present them to others.Knowledge of analysis and financial software.Strong creative skills to develop new and innovative solutions.Ability to create and deliver unbiased budget expectations for different departments.Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, preferably a Master’s or CPA license.Experience and Skills

At least four years’ experience in nonprofit accounting operations, with responsibility for a broad range of accounting activities. Preferred experience with nonprofit grants and contracts.Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.Thorough knowledge of accounting practices and concepts.General knowledge of Microsoft products.Demonstrated competency in all accounting functional areas and financial software systems like Sage Intacct, ADP, Tally and Bill.com to name a few.
