The role of the HR Generalist / Office Assistant is pivotal in providing vital support to the human resources functions and maintaining seamless operations in the office. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a foundational understanding of HR processes, coupled with a robust administrative background, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive approach to efficiently manage diverse tasks.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

Serve as a dedicated employee benefits resource for all staff, ensuring a clear understanding of the available benefits and assisting with inquiries.Facilitate company annual compensation and benefits efforts by conducting thorough reviews, identifying improvement areas, and implementing strategic enhancements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal standards.Conduct regular market research to ensure competitive compensation practices.Provide guidance and support to employees regarding benefits enrollment, claims, and related inquiries.Manage Viking Masek's leave process, including documentation, certification, and tracking of leave usage. Ensure compliance with FMLA regulations and company policies.Assist in the administration of compensation programs, including salary reviews, merit increases, and incentive plans.Support the payroll team with bi-weekly tasks and ensure accuracy in processing.Utilize HRIS systems for data management and reporting.Foster positive employee relations by addressing inquiries, facilitating communication, and promoting a collaborative work environment.Manage employee files, overseeing documentation related to benefits, attendance, and other pertinent information.Maintain a welcoming and professional environment for employees and guests.Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries.Act as a backup for all HR team members.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role.Strong knowledge of HR practices, compensation, and benefits administration.Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient time management and adaptability to changing demands.Proactive, self-directed, and initiative-driven.Well-developed interpersonal skills for positive relationships.Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.Preferred Qualifications:

Certification as a SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP or CP) or Professional in Human Resources (SPHR/PHR).Expectations:
