Our vision is an efficient and effective health care delivery system that supports a healthy, equitable and vibrant community.POSITION SUMMARY:The District of Columbia Hospital Association has, for almost 45 years, worked to advance the missions of the hospitals and health systems of the District of Columbia by promoting policies and initiatives that strengthen the system of care, preserve access and promote better health outcomes for the patients and communities they serve. The role of the Director, Workforce Development is to assist in executing the Association’s strategic workforce priorities, including managing the work of the DC Health Care Workforce Partnership as a workforce intermediary.The Director, Workforce Development will achieve success by:Garnering the respect of the Association’s leaders and the members’ human resource and administrative champions and staff.Garnering the respect of health employers and District of Columbia workforce agencies.Developing proactive processes for engaging partners for advancing training programs, workforce pipeline creation and occupational career pathways in health care.Being able to work independently and be a strong effective team player, committed to delivering timely results; with excellent organization skills and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.Being a collaborative partner with the Association’s leadership and members to develop proactive strategies and responses to facilitate project goals and objectives.Demonstrating a “can-do” approach and sense of ownership on Association-wide projects as a member of a small team where “it’s not my job” is not an option.Leading a team of coordinators and interns to assist in carrying out programs and assignments as necessary.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage Workforce Programming:Supervise and lead coordinators, managers, and interns assigned to the workforce programs in a collaborative manner with specific aims to support camaraderie and teamwork to develop a high-functioning team.Oversee the development of the necessary work plans to execute workforce efforts and grants to achieve required milestones on-time.Work with outside stakeholders and members to support workforce aims including relationship development between members, education providers, and workforce agencies.Responsible for the day-to-day management of workforce grants and activities.Work with Leadership Team to ensure the successful coordination, management, and implementation of projects.Assist with grant-funded project activities, such as tracking and reporting of data related to trainees, apprentices, training, and other deliverables to meet all project milestones.Author reports on the project for management and for funders.Lead in all aspects of workforce programs including the development of applications, management of project deliverables, plans for improvement, final reports, and collection of data.Data Analytics:Responsible to learn and manage various software used by the Association for assigned project data management and reporting.Facilitate successful data collection and reporting to support evaluation of project deliverables and outcomes.Perform basic data quality and analytics activities.Analyze data, define issues, prepare project reports, and keep Vice President apprised of project status, using appropriate and effective communications tools.Ensure grant records are maintained in compliance with the grantor in support of the projects.Provide research, writing and related input for formulation and development of program evaluations.Create and monitor work plans and deliverables, review and use data to support programmatic effectiveness and continuous program improvement.Manage apprenticeship and/or workforce development project processes and procedures, including data tracking and reporting.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Education/Experience:A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of experience in workforce programs and three years of supervisory experience.Successful experience as a team leader and manager.Experience and comfort in communicating with senior managers and executives.Skills & Abilities:Understanding of health system operations, advocacy and community engagement.Ability to position hospitals and medical practices as national leaders.Excellent communication skills (listening, writing, and speaking).Skills in establishing and maintaining relationships with human resource, government relations and community benefit teams at member institutions.Strong skills in collaboration, leadership and motivation.Skilled in persuasive, conversational and editorial writing.Strong sense of personal and professional integrity.Technology Skills:Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Proficiency with email.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:The physical demands and work environment described below represent the activities and surroundings of the positions. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.The work is typically performed in an office environment, with a moderate noise level. The position requires working in an office environment with the usual office equipment, including copiers, fax machines, and computers. The position also requires the incumbent to have an adequate off-site office environment for remote work. The employee is frequently required to communicate on the telephone and conferencing software and in person with individuals and groups. The incumbent may carry materials/equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. on occasion. The incumbent is required to read and respond to documents in hard copy and electronic form. The position requires occasional travel to member facilities and meetings requiring transportation.DCHA operates on a hybrid work schedule with employees working in office at least 50% per pay period.SALARY RANGE:$95,000-$110,000FUNDING SOURCE:This position is grant funded.To apply for this job
