**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). Advanced certifications such as AWHONN EFM (Intermediate or Advanced), STABLE, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are preferred.
**Must-Have:**- Experience in triage, labor and delivery, recovery, postpartum, newborn stabilization, and newborn care.- Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required.
**Job Description:**- **Facility Details:**- 4 Labor and Delivery beds, separate from 4 postpartum beds- One room used for triage- OR performs C-Sections, no dedicated suites on the unit- Nursery available, no NICU; infants under 35 weeks are transferred- Births: Approximately 0-4 per day and 40-50 per month
- **Clinical Guidelines:**- Follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios
- **Patient Demographics:**- Term labor, gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, induction of labor, spontaneous rupture of membranes (SROM), term and late preterm newborns, newborn jaundice
- **Duties:**- Triage and care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum- Stabilization and care of newborns- Titration of drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium, insulin, and TXA- Charge nurse may take assignments ideally out of regular staffing
- **Team Support:**- Nursing aides available for support; work 12-hour shifts, not scheduled every day- OB/Neonatologist, Anesthesia, and Pediatrics on call 24/7- Respiratory equipment such as Neopuff, CPAP, and hi-flow available
- **Documentation/Monitoring:**- RNs are required to read their own monitor strips.- GE monitors used for Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM); Obix system for documentation
