Job Description
Within Nordstrom’s Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team (FP&A), we enjoy a unique perspective into everything happening within Nordstrom. Our team provides strategic support to the CFO and enterprise-wide planning, analysis, and reporting. We are the central place the entire company looks to for an understanding of financial performance while playing a significant role in driving profitable business decisions. We are seeking a seasoned financial professional to lead our Corporate FP&A enterprise planning team of five managers and individual contributors. The enterprise planning team is responsible for key corporate wide activities including planning cycles and processes, scenario modeling, economic trends, monthly and quarterly reporting for both internal and external stakeholders and key presentations to our executive team. In this role you will drive the implementation, evolution and improvement of the key planning processes. This role will leverage various analytic and visualization techniques to support data-driven storytelling, looking forward to continuously raise the bar on our business insights capabilities and meet current and future needs of the business. This position will require the ability to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This role is Hybrid in Seattle, Washington, and will require three days per week in office in our downtown Seattle location. We do offer relocation for this role. A day in the life: Support the team’s growth and development through clear expectations, coaching, and teaching to achieve their professional goals Implement processes that support enterprise planning and initiatives that connect our company strategy to our financial outcomes including what resources are needed to execute. Implement and manage a long-term vision and portfolio of initiatives to improve profitability through best-in-class planning processes, visualizations, and data driven storytelling Support critical internal and external reporting deliverables including guidance, planning artifacts and executive team reporting Support internal team to provide information that enables analysis across the P&L and support recommendations on shifts in investments, identify trends and proactively communicate insights ensuring positive ROI Collaborate with business partners to gain business acumen to better anticipate future needs and respond to current information needs Connect with broader Nordstrom finance and analytics community of professionals to stay current on technology trends, data tools and techniques to continuously improve capabilities You own this if you have: Bachelor's degree (finance or economics preferred) 12 plus years of experience in finance with scope and accountability progression (corporate finance preferred) Experience managing teams and relationships across peers, team members and business leaders Experienced in process design and project management Excellent communication skills to summarize insights and provide recommendations to various levels of the organization We’ve got you covered… Our employees are our most important asset and that’s reflected in our benefits.
