Position Title: Sr. Accountant
Department: Finance
Supervisor Title: Controller
In conjunction with the mission, vision, and values of Star Valley Health, this position is responsible for partnering with the Controller in accounting and financial functions. Those functions include providing in-depth financial services to the organization, including reporting, analysis, and general accounting responsibilities. This is an “at will” position.
Requirements:
Job Duties
Assist the Controller with overall financial operations including accounting, audits, compliance, and financial planning activities within the organization.Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures, including month-end close and review processes.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for regulatory and banking purposes.Monitor and review journal entries (such as budget, revenue, expense, and payroll), vendor invoices, and other accounting documents for accuracy and completeness.Review daily cash, accounts receivable, and accounts payable activity.Review monthly bank statements and reconciliations including payroll, operating, and other cash accounts.Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, including account analysis with strong audit support, according to month-end close schedules.Prepare and maintain documentation and reconciliations for interim and annual audits.Prepare statistical and benchmarking reporting for monthly reporting package and regulatory cost reports.Support Directors as needed to review department-level financial results, explain accounting concepts, and answer related questions.Understand and maintain multiple software systems and data integrations to ensure accounting data consistency and accuracy.
Abilities & Skills:
Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Highly motivated self-starter, with ability to change direction as needed.Strong knowledge of and comfort with computer and accounting applications, such as Microsoft Office suite, QuickBooks, and NetSuite.
Experience & Education:
Bachelor of Accounting required; Master of Accounting preferred.Minimum five (5) years progressive accounting experience in a complex environment.Healthcare accounting experience preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,585.00 - $95,409.00 per year
