Job Overview: We are looking for a skilled Senior Desktop Systems Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in desktop management, deployment, and configuration, with a focus on using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). Responsibilities include managing and maintaining SCCM infrastructure, creating and deploying desktop images, troubleshooting and resolving desktop issues, and collaborating with IT teams to design and implement desktop deployment strategies. Key Responsibilities: Manage and maintain SCCM infrastructure for automating deployment, updating, and monitoring of desktop environments. Create, build, and deploy desktop images and applications using SCCM and other tools. Perform manual desktop builds and configurations when necessary, ensuring all systems meet company standards and security requirements. Develop and maintain desktop OS images, ensuring systems are patched and secure. Troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop performance, hardware, software, and security issues. Monitor desktop health and performance using SCCM, identifying and resolving potential issues proactively. Manage and deploy software updates and patches using SCCM to ensure compliance with security policies. Collaborate with IT teams to design and implement desktop deployment strategies, improving efficiency and reducing downtime. Ensure desktop security, including antivirus, encryption, and compliance with company policies. Provide escalated support for desktop issues, working closely with Helpdesk and other IT teams to resolve critical incidents. Maintain and update technical documentation related to desktop deployments and configurations. Required Qualifications: 5 years of experience in desktop engineering, including hands-on work with SCCM for desktop and software deployment. Strong understanding of Windows OS environments and experience in OS imaging and deployment. Experience with software packaging, scripting, and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, VBScript). Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve desktop hardware and software issues. Familiarity with Group Policy, Active Directory, and other desktop management tools. Experience managing large-scale desktop environments (500 systems). Preferred Skills: Experience with virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments. Familiarity with cloud-based deployment and management solutions. Knowledge of networking fundamentals, particularly related to desktop connectivity and remote management. Industry certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert - MCSE, CompTIA A). Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
