We are looking for a
Director of Procurement
to join our team. The ideal candidate must have experience in importing and contract management. The leader in this role should possess 10-15 years with the ability to establish/improve processes to synergize Purchasing, Inventory Management, Vendor Management and Compliance Management teams. The ideal candidate is responsible for developing and implementing a supply strategy that delivers the lowest total cost, reduces inventory, and maximizes customer satisfaction through world class service. The ideal candidate must also have experience in importing and contract management.Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Must have demand planning and in depth import experienceEstablish strategic parameters and processes across purchasing team to effectively manage inventory levels while improving product turn metrics and fulfillment (serviceability) rates.Provides leadership and strategic direction to the supply team (Demand Planning, Procurement, and Inbound Transportation). Leads the team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Establish performance benchmarks and work with our suppliers through a scorecard system, allowing for more effective vendor management of 3rd party suppliers. Identify and integrate new alternative supply sources to improve fulfillment rates and achieve better costing to improve margins. Ensure that all key suppliers receive updated rolling forecasts.Improve ROI with 3rd Party Freight Forward Service vendors; establishing priority preference contract agreements to shorten delivery time of direct shipment containers from suppliers.Ensure serviceability and delivery deadlines are met/exceeded. Ensure that all inbound delivery receipts for inbound freight and backorders are correctly communicated internally. The ability to negotiate for better pricing and buying terms are a must.Collaborate with Product Managers' efforts related to sourcing and life cycle management of 1,000's of SKUs across key product categories – gloves, clothing, eyewear, hearing protection and other – and general merchandise products to support correct inventory levels, forecasting and overall serviceability.EDUCATION AND SKILLS:Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Business etc. preferredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Demand Planning, Procurement, and Inbound Transportation etc.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Inventory Management/Manage supply chain productivity and operational processes.
