**Job Title:** Registered Nurse**Job Specialty:** Progressive Care Unit (PCU)**Job Duration:** 13 weeks**Shift:** 19:00-07:00, Night shift**Guaranteed Hours:** N/A**Experience:** Minimum 2 years of experience**License:** Registered Nurse (RN)**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)**Must-Have:** Medical ICU experience in a large facility, proficient in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management. Critical thinker, flexible, and team-oriented.
**Job Description:**
- Work in a 10-bed unit with ICU/PCU overflow.- Patient ratios: 2:1 for ICU and 4-5:1 for PCU.- Night shift staffing includes 1 Charge RN and 5 Staff RNs.- Utilize equipment such as lift equipment, targeted temperature management (TTM), ventilators, and IV pumps.- Use Cerner for documentation.- Schedule involves 12-hour shifts with every other weekend required and holiday support.- No on-call requirements, but floating within the hospital may be necessary.- Mandatory bedside shift reports in all areas, and relief charge nurse to perform nurse leader rounding.- Advanced skills required include ventilator management, critical care pharmacology (IV sedation, paralytics, vasopressors), and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.- Assist providers with bedside procedures that may include chest tube insertion and intubations.- Dress code requires navy blue or white scrubs.
