An Engineering company in Somerset County is a growing Civil Engineering firm with office locations across New Jersey and PennsylvaniaThe firm provides land development and municipal engineering services.They are looking for a
Senior Accountant
for their growing FirmThis person will part of the internal operations team and work in their Somerset County officeThis individual will report to the Accounting Manager and help support the company's financial ancial processThis is a full-time role.Primary Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:
Perform monthly general ledger close through to the trial balancePrepare and record monthly journal entriesPrepare journal entries for required reclassifications, and monthly accrualsRecord company payroll/tax disbursement and journal entries for pay, taxes, 401k and FSAMaintain monthly prepayment and amortization schedulesMaintain monthly bank reconciliationsPrepare monthly account analysis and reconciliationsPerform monthly corporate credit card reconciliationsReview expense reports to ensure compliance with company's policyEnsure all A/P invoices, expenses, check requests, etcare processed accurately and timelyPrepare and issue 1099s to consultants/vendorsCompile materials for year-end financial statements and tax planning for outside accounting firmIdentify and resolve financial discrepanciesAd-hoc reporting and special projects, as requestedOther duties as assigned by the ControllerRequired Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business3+ years of accounting experienceKnowledge of Microsoft Office with superior Excel skillsArchitecture and Engineering (A&E) Industry experience preferredProficiency in Deltek Vision a strong plusHighly analytical with strong writing and verbal communications skillsHighly organized with an eye for detail and problem solvingAbility to prioritize and work in a team environment and independentlyExcellent time management skills with an ability to meet deadlinesExercise discretion and maintain confidentiality regarding company accountsBenefits:The company offers group health insurance including medical coverage through Blue Cross / Blue Shield, dental and vision coverage.Additional benefits include 401(k) savings plan, paid holidays, vacation and sick days, life insurance, long term disability, voluntary long term care coverage, tuition reimbursement and a flexible spending planSalary is commensurate with experience.
