Role Overview In the Staff Backend Software Engineer role, you'll be instrumental in developing robust solutions with an experienced team of software engineers. This position involves designing critical product features, offering guidance to a multidisciplinary audience, and contributing to the development of next-generation products. You will play an essential role in their cloud service operations, providing technical leadership, precise communication, and fostering a culture centered on quality. As a thought leader, you'll naturally emerge as a key player, influencing engineering practices and culture within the team. Requirements Technical Leadership & Innovation Lead a team of software engineers, offering mentorship, defining technical direction, and influencing best practices within the team. Act as a high-impact contributor, continuously refining development methodologies, optimizing processes, and enhancing team efficiency. Champion ongoing improvement initiatives, identifying bottlenecks, streamlining processes, and introducing tools to refine the software development lifecycle. Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration Partner with Product Management, Quality Assurance, and DevOps teams to define project requirements, provide time estimates, and ensure smooth integration of development efforts. Drive a collaborative culture by maintaining clear communication channels and encouraging knowledge-sharing across disciplines. Technical Mastery Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in software engineering to foster product improvements. Anticipate and explore opportunities to leverage new technologies to support innovation in development practices. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or a related field. A minimum of 7 years in professional software development, with specialized experience in backend/API development. At least 3 years of expertise in Node.js/Typescript, with proven success in developing and maintaining Node.js production services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating the ability to navigate complex technical challenges. Demonstrates a commitment to quality and thoroughness in all work. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience with agile development methodologies and relevant tools and processes. Bonus Qualifications Experience implementing and optimizing GraphQL queries and mutations. Familiarity with NestJS server development framework.
