ABOUT THIS ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer who will be integral in creating and managing advanced data infrastructure and pipelines. This role involves collaborating with diverse teams to ensure smooth data flow, supporting sophisticated analytics and machine learning initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess top-notch technical skills, a knack for problem-solving, and a commitment to developing premium data solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Offer guidance and mentorship to the data engineering team.Define and implement best practices, driving the adoption of contemporary data engineering techniques and technologies.Construct and sustain scalable, efficient data pipelines for both batch and real-time data.Ensure pipelines are resilient and capable of processing substantial data volumes.Design and oversee data storage solutions such as data warehouses and data lakes to support analytics and machine learning.Make informed decisions on whether to build or purchase data tools and platforms.Implement processes to guarantee data quality, validation, and governance.Establish and uphold data management policies and best practices.Work with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to comprehend data needs and deliver superior data solutions.Promote effective communication and foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.Lead initiatives to enhance data engineering processes, increasing productivity and efficiency.Identify and eliminate bottlenecks, optimize workflows, and introduce tools and methodologies to streamline the data development lifecycle.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Over 5 years of experience in data engineering or a similar discipline.In-depth knowledge of data engineering technologies and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Hadoop).Proficiency in Python.Experience with AWS and data storage solutions (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, data lakes).Familiarity with PostgreSQL, ELK stack, or Snowflake.Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical abilities.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities.Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of machine learning workflows and tools.Understanding of data security best practices.Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
