The Manager Process Engineering is responsible for leadingsystem design team on projects. Systems can include productionand distribution of high purity gases and chemicals, upstreamand downstream biologics processing, small molecule synthesis,fill/finish, and specialty chemicals, and high purity water,waste treatment, and clean and support utilities.

Explore your tasks and responsibilitiesManages and works with a team of engineers and / ordesigners to create and document designs fulfilling the projectdesign scope consistent with industry-accepted practice as wellas client-preferred standards

Develops system design from Concept Phase throughConstruction Documents

Responsible for quality control and approval of concepts,basis of design, process flow diagrams, process andinstrumentation diagrams, piping and equipment plans, details,specifications, cost, and schedule for all process systems

Meets the project requirements

Monitors team progress to ensure design team is on track

Contributes to the Process Knowledge Center via documentinglessons learned, completing CIP assignments from regionalsystem expert, and use of information developed by others inprocess discipline

Mentors and supports the career developed of assigned staff

Participates in the recruiting and interviewing new Processemployees

Supports project on-site execution and make decisions tosupport projects and act as technical consultant

Supports the Design Manager and Construction Manager withFee Development Guide, change orders, quality assurance,scheduling, staffing, progress report outs, interdisciplinarycoordination, and other responsibilities as agreed to by theproject lead and/or Discipline Director

Works as a Task Force Lead coordinating with RegionalSystem Experts and project leads to identify and develop systemspecific standard tools (drawings, specifications, checklists,calculators) for lean project execution, promoting project toproject repeatability and consistency across ATF/LSC segments

Develops manpower and labor cost requirements for a projectand monitor them to aid in evaluating project schedule andbudget

Provides specialized technical input to studies and designfor staff's specific area of expertise

Develops study and design procedures to facilitatehigh-quality cost-effective work by discipline team

Develops conceptual design, preliminary design and finaldesign documents which would include calculations related tosizing and selecting of these systems, the development ofProcess and Instrumentation Diagrams, general arrangements andsequences of operation associated with these systems

Coordinates with the project team and other disciplines aswell as other design offices

Coordinates with disciplines in the preparation anddevelopment of the deliverables and ensuring those otherdisciplines' inputs are incorporated

Show your expertiseMinimum RequiredEducation: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering orrelated field preferred

10+ years of experience

Experience in leading teams and work groups, small tomedium, on ATF or LSC projects

Detailed understanding of all core Process Systems used inATF and / or LSC projects

Detailed knowledge and understanding of industry codes andstandards applicable for their process system design andspecifications

Detailed understating of Lean execution principles fordesign of projects

Good time management skills, strong work ethic andattention to details

Good verbal and written communication skills

Must be a strong team player with an ability to buildeffective working relationships with individuals, departmentleads, and client representatives

Ability to train team on lean principles needed to designand manage project

Energetic and self-motivated

Ability to mentor and train junior staff

Ability build and maintain positive and productive workingrelationships both internal and external

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred

Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying(NCEES) Record preferred

Prior experience with advanced technology

Prior experience in consulting engineering

Experience working within a team environment

Experience in the quality control review process

Experience contributing to continuous improvement processes

Experience in leading a team
