Supervises a team of technicians in the fee-for-service stable isotope analysis of carbon and nitrogen of bulk solid samples at the Stable Isotope Facility, a core research facility at UC Davis. Responsible quality control and assurance of analysis, as well as the coordination and delivery of analytical data reports to researchers. Works with technical team members to maintain, diagnose, and repair analytical and associated scientific instrumentation. As a member of the leashership team of the Stable Isotope Facility, provides stewardship and administrative support to Facility operations, and delegates administrative assignments within their supervisory role.

Department OverviewFounded in 1997, the Stable Isotope Facilty provides fee-for-service analysis of stable isotope ratios for researchers across UC Davis, as well as off-campus researchers distributed across the globe. The facility annually provides more stable isotope analytical services, in both diversity and amount, than any other academic laboratory in the world, and its widely recognized as a world leader in stable isotope analysis. The facility also provides training and advisement to UC Davis faculty, staff, graduate and post-graduate fellows, as well as hosting visiting researchers from peer universities and international training programs.Department Specific Job ScopeLeadership and supervisory role within the Stable Isotope Facility. Supervises a team of three Staff Research Associates. Works directly with Research Engineer to maintain operations within the EA-IRMS analytical group.
