Description and Requirements

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary

Global Experiential Events Director

to spearhead the strategic planning and execution of Lenovo’s presence at high-profile industry events such as CES (Consumer Electronics Show), IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung), and MWC (Mobile World Congress). Beyond managing Lenovo’s participation in these large-scale events, this leader will

collaborate across teams to orchestrate keynote speeches, product launch press conferences, and other high-impact activities

designed to elevate Lenovo’s brand presence and engage media, analysts, creators/influencers, customers, partners, and employees.

This role requires a highly strategic thinker capable of crafting long-term event strategies that align with Lenovo’s overarching business objectives. The ideal candidate will

skillfully leverage the PESO (Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned) media model to amplify the impact of each event

. As a forward-thinking leader,

you will innovate event formats, seamlessly integrate media strategies across PESO channels, and optimize event ROI

. Cross-functional collaboration will be key to ensuring consistent messaging and flawless execution that align with brand goals and resonate with key audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Event Planning & Execution

Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive, forward-looking events strategy that aligns with broader business objectives and fully integrates

PESO media strategies

to drive maximum exposure and engagement.

Collaborate with senior leadership to define event goals, themes, and messaging that align with long-term marketing and business strategies.

Ensure seamless integration of product and brand messaging across events while strategically incorporating paid promotions, earned media (PR and media coverage), shared media (social channels), and owned media (company content) in close collaboration with broader functional teams to amplify event impact.

2. Media & Keynote Speech Planning

Work across teams to design and oversee large events and keynote presentations, incorporating PESO elements to enhance media outreach, thought leadership, and brand storytelling in collaboration with PR/comms team.

Work closely with the PR and social media teams to integrate earned, shared, and owned media strategies into the broader event plan.

Support the development of strategic content and storytelling for executive keynotes, ensuring speeches resonate with the media, analysts, and key stakeholders across PESO channels in collaboration with broader functional teams.

3. Leadership & Strategic Team Development

Lead a team of event marketing professionals, providing direction on strategic planning, media integration (across PESO), and execution of all event-related activities.

Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, encouraging the team to integrate the PESO model in planning, execution, and post-event amplification.

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all event initiatives align with overall marketing and business goals, while making strategic use of paid, earned, shared, and owned media.

4. Strategic Vendor & Partnership Management

Build and maintain strategic relationships with key vendors, partners, and venues, ensuring long-term collaboration and strategic alignment with event objectives.

Negotiate contracts that reflect strategic priorities, including PESO-driven promotional opportunities that amplify the reach of the events.

Have strong operational discipline in managing contracts/SOWs, recaps and proof of execution.

5. Event Analytics & ROI Evaluation

Lead post-event strategic analysis, assessing performance (and progress), media coverage across PESO channels, attendee engagement, and overall ROI.

Develop KPIs and metrics to evaluate how paid media (e.g., ads), earned media (e.g., press coverage), shared media (e.g., social amplification), and owned media (e.g., website, content assets) contributed to event success.

Continuously improve event planning processes and execution based on strategic learnings and media insights.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

: 15+ years of experience in events marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role focused on strategic event planning, media integration, and large-scale event execution. Experience in incorporating PESO (Paid, Earned, Shared, Owned) media into event strategies is required.

Education

: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, event management, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications in strategic management or event marketing is a plus.

Industry Knowledge

: Strong understanding of the tech industry and a proven track record in managing strategic, high-profile industry events such as CES, MWC, and other global conferences.

, with the ability to leverage paid, earned, shared, and owned media channels to maximize event visibility and engagement.

Proven leadership in managing teams (not just agencies) and developing strategic event programs.

Strong negotiation skills, with an emphasis on long-term partnerships and strategic collaboration with external vendors.

Expertise in budget management, contract negotiation, and maximizing ROI.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a strategic approach to engaging senior leadership, media, and external stakeholders.

Travel

: Up to 25% domestic US and international travel may be required.

The base salary range budgeted for this position is $170,000 - $220,000. Individuals may also be considered for bonuses and/or commissions. Lenovo’s various benefits can be found at www.lenovobenefits.com .
