Description and Requirements
Lenovo is a leader in genuine innovation and smarter technology for all. We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven B2B Email Marketing & Automation Specialist to join our dynamic marketing team. This team member serves as the email marketing and automation subject matter expert, pulling from their strong experience in email marketing, marketing automation, and lead nurturing and deep understanding of email best practices, lead scoring, and customer engagement. This team member will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing sophisticated email marketing strategies and automation workflows to drive engagement, conversion, and customer retention.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning:
Develop and execute comprehensive email marketing strategies to drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement.
Work with the marketing team and third-party agencies to develop nurturing programs that move prospects and leads through the buying process and create promotional or campaign emails.
Shape and execute the strategic email roadmap, establishing strategies and priorities for the development and enhancement of email content.
Campaign Management:
Oversee email marketing campaigns from end to end, including marketing calendar management, building workflows, creating automated campaigns, A/B segmentation, targeting, production, and lead nurturing.
Ensure the successful configuration, implementation, and maintenance of all marketing programs within Marketo.
Design and implement strategic drip campaigns to nurture leads and enhance customer engagement.
Implement personalization and segmentation strategies to optimize overall email performance.
Data Management and Analytics:
Own and curate the marketing database to ensure the org’s universe of prospects is constantly growing and highly accurate, automating processes where necessary.
Utilize the toolsets responsible for customer segmentation, augmentation, and data hygiene, ensuring synchronization across the MAP and CRM.
Analyze performance data and recommend optimizations to efficiently meet goals.
Maintain analytics and report insights to internal partners and leadership, developing detailed and summarized reporting on campaign performance.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Partner closely across teams to develop visual and copy assets, implement exceptional email content strategy, and meet campaign objectives.
Establish partnerships with internal teams and agencies to ensure alignment and drive operational efficiency.
Work with outside marketing agencies and internal marketing stakeholders to ensure data is clean, campaigns are executed on time, and marketing metrics are reported accurately.
Compliance and Best Practices:
Ensure all email marketing activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, including CASL, TCPA compliance, and CAN-SPAM regulations.
Implement email deliverability best practices to maximize inbox placement.
Maintain a clean and up-to-date email subscriber list.
Optimization and Testing:
Develop and execute structured testing strategies to optimize conversion rates.
Support optimization strategies that improve user experience and demand generation, using personalization and A/B testing.
Seek opportunities to improve processes, increasing speed, efficiency, and collaboration.
Customer Journey and Retention:
Understand the different stages of the customer journey and deliver improvements to key metrics.
Improve engagement and lead conversion rates through targeted and personalized email campaigns.
Data and Reporting:
Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to best practices and company policies.
Assist with reports and data extraction when needed.
Work closely with internal teams and supporting agencies to build all marketing reports and required integrations.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
4+ years of experience in email marketing and marketing automation
Proficiency with Marketo Engage
Preferred Requirements:
Strong understanding of email best practices and lead scoring methodologies
Experience managing and building retention strategies
Knowledge of email environments (Firefox, Safari, and Chrome) and experience with test planning and A/B test strategies
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights
Strong project management skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Creative thinker with a keen eye for detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Certification in email marketing or marketing automation is a plus
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus
Experience with Adobe Experience Manager is a plus
Familiarity with HTML/CSS for email template customization is a plus
