Regional SIS Professional Learning Consultants (Job Classification: Business Systems Analyst I) for our Office of Digital Teaching and Learning's Home Base section.
The primary purpose of the Digital Teaching and Learning Division is to provide leadership and direction to all educational entities with the oversight of digital age learning, data driven decision making, online and digital resources, modern school systems, and reporting; leadership and direction in the development and management of the Digital Learning Initiative, Digital Learning Progress Rubric, NCDLMI, and conversion to digital resources.
This Position will serve as the team lead and primary point of contact for Student Information System (SIS) Professional Learning Regional Consultants, addressing their inquiries, holding training sessions, and regular meetings related to the SIS. Provide remote and on-site support to customers, guiding them through troubleshooting processes and resolving problems efficiently.
Lead in the implementation, configuration, and setup of the SIS at regional customer locations. Stay up-to-date with product updates and new releases, ensuring comprehensive knowledge to assist customers effectively. Preparing and presenting regular reports on support provided and customer satisfaction levels to NCDPI Leadership. In this customer-facing position, proactive engagement with customers will be highly valued as you gather feedback, measure satisfaction, and build strong, long-lasting relationships.
This position will also support and coordinate with vendor SIS trainers, support services and customers, and provide feedback on progress to district and state stakeholders.
Design and Delivery of TrainingDevelop lesson plans for training and conduct the training. Training sessions and courses will include coordinating and setting up webinars and training events, developing standard, repeatable modules, customizing training, or creating new training modules.Training will include, but will not be limited to, gradebook management, uploading content, ensuring workstations meet minimum specifications for running training content, providing materials and handouts, and using assessment data to build instructional capacity.Develop evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness of the training sessions. In terms of administrative and personnel responsibilities, the trainer will assist in developing long-range plans based on the requirements of the DPI Public School Units (PSU) of North Carolina.Gather pertinent information in order to plan for and make recommendations for changes. The trainer will assist in reviewing the work of colleagues to ensure that quality support is provided to DPI and the PSUs. The trainer will continuously update materials to ensure they reflect new product features and best practices.Review the training curriculum each time a new release comes out for components of Home Base. The trainer will ensure that documentation, communication, and training are developed for each release and that they match the production release. The trainer will evaluate alternative methods of training delivery and coordinate the delivery of training using the most appropriate and cost-efficient delivery method.Coordination and Development of Quick Reference Documents - As a member of the training team, this position will develop Quick Reference Documents for custom components of the SIS. The documents will provide information on the NC customizations of the SIS product.Communication and Collaboration
Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and will serve as a point of contact for this product, escalating issues to management as necessary.Plan for and communicate NCDPI and district communications pertaining to job responsibilities, including system updates, issue remedies, upcoming releases, and system enhancements.Elicit and document requirements through various engagements with system stakeholders and will document and track changes for functional and business specifications.Contribute to NCDPI PD teams and will participate in related meetings to ensure the overall success of NCDPI PD objectives for teachers, principals, and administrators.Attend the Home Base Committee, which will consist of representatives from LEAs and charter schools. The purpose of this group will be to guide future enhancements to the Student Information System.Management
Manage daily activities within the Student Information System and will supervise the 16 SIS Professional Learning Consultants. They will lead professional development for the entire state of North Carolina to implement the new Student Information System for over 1.6 million students, 500,000 teachers, and 100,000 administrators.Lead troubleshooting and internal support activities related to instructional digital resources for the SISAssist in strategic planning efforts in the SIS.Organize and determine priorities when tasked with completion of deliverables for several projects at conflicting times with the SIS.Other duties as assigned in the SIS.EEO Statement:
