Job Responsibilities

York Technical College, a member of the South Carolina Technical and Comprehensive Education System, is a public, two-year institution of higher education that offers a variety of associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. Through maximizing student success, the College seeks to contribute to the economic growth and development of York, Lancaster, and Chester counties and of the State.

York Technical College is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to serve as the Director of our Child Development Center (CDC). The CDC has transitioned to one whose primary aim is to serve the children of York Technical College, working to remove the barrier of childcare for students. We seek a director who shares that vision and will work diligently to bring it to fruition.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic leadership and direction for the CDC, acting as a liaison between the center and student services to coordinate support for student families.Develop, implement, and evaluate early childhood education programs that meet the developmental needs of children. Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with best practices in early childhood education and the college's mission to support students and families.Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that supports the growth and development of every child.Ensure compliance with all licensing and accreditation requirements, including maintaining the Center's National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation. Lead the implementation and management of programs such as South Carolina First Steps 4K, ABC Quality, and other state and federal initiatives aimed at improving early childhood education.Supervise and mentor a team of early childhood educators and support staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and program guidelines.Oversee the financial management of the Center, including budgeting, resource allocation, and maintaining risk management solutions.Collaborate with parents, faculty, and the community to promote the Center's mission and objectives. Provide student learning opportunities and internships within the center.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and at least three years' experience in a leadership position of a childcare facility.Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field or a Master's degree with 18 credit hours in Early Childhood Education.Additional Comments
