RESPONSIBILITIESProvide technical guidance, management, mentoring and development of plant engineers.Provide technical support to area plant engineers managing Stable Ops, OEE and First Time Prime improvement projects. Provide guidance in developing scope for these projects, as well as time schedules and cost estimates.Ensure successful completion of documentation for technical changes and projects under their management, including EHS documentation.Support safety and environmental process activities and be a role model for leadership in these areas.Continuous improvement in productivity of the manufacturing facility. This includes mentoring and developing engineers and working with plant personnel to improve rates and yields through changes to process equipment, procedures, and operator training. Perform failure and root cause analysis and make technical recommendations for repairs and replacements considering economics and plant availability risksProduct quality including working with plant personnel to troubleshoot problems, investigate complaints, and implement effective technical solutions to prevent reoccurrence. Lead plant engineering effort in a technical based approach to understand catalyst balance and reduce lossesEnsure compliance with all elements of process safety management by managing and reporting on site MOC status, driving improvement, and ensure compliance by owning the site MI program.Manage the site CAPEX budget. Direct and develop Plant Engineers in capital project execution including process design, equipment specification, operator training, start-up support, and troubleshooting.Provide leadership, technical expertise and support for new product introductions, major process changes using plant trial authorization, operator training and generating new manufacturing procedures.Provide coverage for the Site Manager when this person is out of the officeManage and control the total technical budgetSTRATEGIC FOCUS:

This is a seasoned engineering position; the incumbent must possess broad based skills in plant operations and production with strong interpersonal skills. An engineering degree, ChemE preferred, with a minimum of 10+ years of extensive progressive chemical process and plant experience is necessary for this position.Responsible for management, technical guidance and development of current plant engineering staff. This includes use of RAGAEP and help with PSM and mechanical integrity requirements. This position also guides engineers in the use of ISO practices, EH&S, TPM, new product introductions and project management.REQUIREMENTS
Minimum BS Engineering with at least 10+ years of experience in manufacturingExperience with batch chemical processesPlanning, leading, organizing, and negotiatingCoaching, mentoring and developing of junior Production EngineersLeading and executing capital projects within budgetUtilities experience would be a plusStrong technical problem-solving abilityAbility to lead and direct project work teamsStrong teamwork and interpersonal skillsSkilled in successfully overcoming technical challengesSkilled in identifying opportunities for optimization and implementing ideasProficiency with data historians and trending software such as ASPEN
