Provide day-to-day EHSSQ services to the plants on the Mobile Site. Work with Unit 53 and the EHSSQ technician to ensure daily support is achieved during normal operations and turnarounds. Primary interface with the operating plants and contractors for safety.
Management of EHSSQ assets and inspections across the site. Works with the EHSSQ continuous improvement team on projects as needed for long term improvements. Maintenance of site equipment includes: emergency equipment, fire protection infrastructure, sprinkler systems, and NFPA compliance. Key contact and lead for regulatory and corporate safety including life critical procedures, contract management, PSM, and MOC's. This includes vetting of contractor companies, determining tier levels, and determining and reporting of KPIs for Contractor Safety.
A willingness to develop other technicians and engineers through training and hands on classes. Ability to continuous learn and improve skills to share across the mobile site.
Ability to cover for Unit 53 or provide hurricane support upon request
RESPONSIBILITIESDetermine and maintain site emergency response equipment inventories and equipment integrity (testing, communicating, replacements, etc.)Ensure compliance as regards emergency response with all state and federal OSHA regulations. Participate with LEPC and share best practices.Ensure the mechanical integrity, testing and maintenance to the site fire water infrastructure. Provide long term improvements to the capital manager.Ensure that Site Emergency Response drills are scheduled and appropriate critiques are completed with appropriate corrective actions.Management of the Contractor Safety program at the Mobile site compliance with applicable contractor safety (PSM) regulations (OSHA 29CFR 1910 and 1926), as well as the Evonik Binding Technical Document for Contractor management.Responsible for approving contractor background checks when exceptions are needed. Exceptions could be requested prior to or after the background checks by the third party provider.Life critical training, audits and communications.Participate in construction safety review for projects for safety and provide expertiseCreate and lead training programs for EHSSQAny other additional duties as assigned by manager or designee.REQUIREMENTS
This position requires 7-10 years comprehensive chemical process experience and emergency response and/ or construction safety experience in the chemical industry.A passion for training or background in training would be preferred.Additional skill clusters include computer skills, effective writing and verbal skills, auditing experience, good interpersonal skills, and self-motivator.It is preferred the candidate has 2-5 years experience in the H&S field or a B.S. in a safety related field. Additional professional qualifications and/or certifications include Incident Command, Emergency Response and Training skills.This job requires detailed knowledge of company, plant, and governmental regulations.This position requires training, organization, and communication skills. Written materials are developed for plant wide and regional use and must be effectively compiled.
