Description of Work
As the Human Resources Technician III for Central HR Talent Acquisition, the role's primary purpose will be to independently serve in position recruitment, qualifications review, and NEOGOV operation for complex or sensitive positions throughout the agency. The position is responsible for providing centralized recruitment services for the administrative divisions (Information and Technology, Safety Office, Internal Audit, Purchasing & Logistics, Governor's Crime Commission, Human Resources, Strategic and Planning Office, Communications Office, Engineering, Staff Development and Training, Facility Management, Security Services, Community Supervision, and Rehabilitation & Reentry). The individual who occupies this position must provide quality internal and external customer service to hiring managers and applicants, to facilitate the recruitment and retention of qualified, yet diverse pool of candidates. Due to the time-sensitive nature of the workload assignment, this role requires an enormous level of detail-oriented work responsibility, efficiency, and productivity involving recruitment. Therefore, this position must meet the expectation of understanding a wide variety of complex classifications and the various levels according to the specified area of function.
The individual in this role must be able to work on a team of Talent Acquisition Specialists who often work together on projects and other assignments to include the proper utilization of the State's NEOGOV ATS System, Fiori Human Resources Integrated System (HRIS), and BOBJ Reporting platform. There is frequent review, interpretation, and the need to analyze appropriately with understanding the Department of Adult Correction SOP's, NC General Statutes, Federal Laws, and Office of State Human Resources policies and procedures that govern the daily practices associated with the overall working need of the agency based on recruitment.
There will be opportunities for travel surrounding regional and/or statewide recruitment pertaining to the marketing of the Department of Adult Correction, as an employer of choice. The primary focus will be geared towards essential and hard-to-fill positions. Collaboration with other teams and divisions throughout the agency will be key to the success of attracting potential candidates while at career expo/fairs (in-person and virtual), college/university internship-sponsored programs, and/or attending other DAC sponsored events.
Other key responsibilities include:Position(s) will guide and assist management in interpreting and applying human resources and departmental policies regarding recruitment matters.Provide recruitment support regarding position posting and applicant screening.Ensure requests to post are accurate and approved by management.Notify applicants of application status via email or letter and maintain a record of recruitment activities for each posting.Update tracking information with posting/reposting information, referral date, etc.Assist with special projects as needed.Communicate and work closely with key stakeholders, various levels of management, and applicants regarding recruitment matters.**This position is eligible for a flexible/hybrid telework schedule under the State of NC Telework Program.**
