The City of Winchester, HR Department is excited to announce an opportunity to join our dynamic team! We are looking for a motivated detail-oriented HR Generalist to serve in an administrative role. The City of Winchester is represented by a strong team of over 600 public servants dedicated to serving the community and providing the highest level of customer service.
This position serves as the primary point of contact for all HR-related inquiries and will encompass various responsibilities, including acting as the office receptionist, conducting new hire onboarding processes, managing HRIS/Payroll entry for new employees, and assisting with recruitment and employee events.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serves as the first point of contact for HR inquiries, providing excellent customer service to employees and applicants;Manage the office reception area, greeting visitors and directing them as needed;Facilitate and conduct new hire onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition for new employees into the organization;Enter new hire information into HRIS and payroll systems accurately and efficiently;Manages and responsible for the accuracy of HR records including employee file management;Assist with planning, organizing, and carrying to completion recruitment fairs and employee events;Support the HR team with various administrative tasks and projects as needed.Requirements:
One year of experience in a technical human resources field required; bachelor's degree ideally in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Sociology, Public Administration or a related field, preferred.Local government experience is preferred.Proficiency in HRIS or finance database systems is required.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.If you thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to make an impact, apply now to join our team!
