Systems Administrator V (Windows and Azure System Administrator) Performs advanced supervisory (senior-level) systems administration work. Work involves overseeing the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of systems. Installs and upgrades computer components, system software and cloud-based applications. May supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Participates in on-call phone rotation for afterhours enterprise support coverage. This position: Oversees and/or performs the planning, design, development, implementation, support, and maintenance of server application installations for Windows and Azure/Office 365. Oversees and/or defines and manages the roles and access privileges of individual users and devices to a variety of applications to prevent unauthorized access. Oversees and/or develops operating procedures for technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and innovative systems administration techniques. Develops goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the servers and systems in TDI's environment. Manage and administrate security vulnerabilities and patching systems. Analyzes, troubleshoots, system hardware, software, and networking issues providing status reports to management as needed. Manage and lead projects, develop procedures and tasks required to perform system or software upgrades, troubleshooting, training, and maintenance on various agency systems. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: This position requires: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a CIS, MIS or related degree and at least four years of systems administration. Minimum of at least four years cloud administration within either the Microsoft/Office 365 or Azure Cloud. Note| Substitution Language Education and experience relevant to position requirements may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. Additional job details: This position requires regular work attendance. The position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. If eligible, the employee must have a secure, dedicated workspace with reliable broadband internet service. The ideal candidate must be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via icrosoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours. Preferences for this position include: Eight years of systems administration work in an enterprise IT environment. IT management/team lead experience or business degree. Microsoft Azure/M365 certification. System Administrations experience with SharePoint, Power BI and or Power Automate. Windows System administration to include security patching and remediation. Windows PowerShell scripting and automation of routine administration tasks. Computer networking, protocols, subnets, TCP/IP, firewalls, and cloud connectivity. Administration experience with applications or middleware such as: FaxCom, Salesforce, WebSphere, SFTP, E-discovery, and Tableau (Power Platforms). Administration experience with Microsoft applications such as ADDS, Microsoft Certificate Authority, O365 Exchange e-mail, DNS/DKIM, Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender, or Microsoft Purview. This position requires demonstrated knowledge of: State laws, rules, procedures, and regulations relevant to job requirements. Systems administration of computer systems in physical and virtual environments. Computer hardware and software configuration and troubleshooting. The techniques used in the design of automated and non-automated systems. Maintaining user accounts and access management systems. Networking principles including routing, subnets, TCP/IP, Firewalls and VLANs. Microsoft Windows Server OS, Active Directory and Group Policy Management. This position requires demonstrated skill in: Problem solving and critical thinking. Using Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint. Using personal computers sufficient to enter and extract data from related systems and programs such as Centralized Accounting Payroll and Personnel (CAPPS) and other systems required to perform the job. Effective oral and verbal communication. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems. Developing and revising system configurations. Scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing system software. Troubleshooting computer systems. This position requires the demonstrated ability to: Communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people with varied skills, knowledge, and backgrounds. Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Analyze and solve work-related problems and work independently on a variety of administrative work and technical assignments. Manage and coordinate multiple tasks and priorities to meet necessary deadlines. Work both independently and as a team player. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers. Recognize, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues. Write and revise standards, procedures, and test plans. Train technical staff in the use and maintenance of complex systems in a clear and concise manner.
