Program Specialist II (Program Specialist) This position involves moderately complex (journey-level) technical and consultative duties for the Consumer Protection Division. The position serves as the Consumer Complaints module (Sircon) coordinator, runs queries, and prepares reports. The position responds to Open Records Requests and provides technical and administrative support to Consumer Protection staff. Works under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. This position: Develop, maintain, and revise SQL (structured query language) and perform queries, prepare administrative and specialized reports, and update internal web pages. Administer and maintain information applications that support the Department needs by capturing and extracting information necessary to maintain audit performance measures, fiscal year end reports, internal processes, and legislative report requirements, as required by the Department. May assist with information technology system coordination; may provide Open Records Requests information or documentation. Perform as a team training collaborator on an array of technical, research, planning policy revisions, assessments, and administrative components used by Consumer Protection. Monitor and review internal collaboration service, agency policy management resource and ITS service tracking software. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: This position requires: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university. In addition, two years experience in the field related to position. Education and experience may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. Additional job details: This position requires regular work attendance. The position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. If eligible, the employee must have a secure, dedicated workspace with reliable broadband internet service. The ideal candidate must be available for weekly meetings and group collaboration via Microsoft Teams and other applications during regular business hours. Preferences for this position include: Data visualization module experience translating data into visual representation. Experience in running queries and preparing data reports across various data platforms to enhance and automate visual communication, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. This position requires demonstrated knowledge of: State laws, rules, procedures, and regulations relevant to job requirements. Public administration. Statistical analysis processes. Research techniques. Training techniques. Program management processes and techniques. This position requires demonstrated skill in: Problem solving and critical thinking. Using Microsoft Office software applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint. Using personal computers sufficient to enter and extract data from related systems and programs such as Centralized Accounting Payroll and Personnel (CAPPS) and other systems required to perform the job. Use of Tableau. Microsoft Power Apps and SQL. This position requires the demonstrated ability to: Communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people with varied skills, knowledge, and backgrounds. Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Analyze and solve work-related problems and work independently on a variety of administrative work and technical assignments. Manage and coordinate multiple tasks and priorities to meet necessary deadlines. Work both independently and as a team player. Use of computer applications such as Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau. Microsoft Power Apps and SQL. Develop, evaluate, and interpret policies and procedures.
