Position Summary:
The associate in the HR Specialist position is responsible for fulfilling the tactical objectives of our business through hiring and retaining employees. Developing and implementing recruiting plans and strategies, striving to bring in the best people to fill the company's needs, as well as other HR functions to support the Company's business and operations. In the event of absence, these job responsibilities will be covered by the employee in the "HR Generalist" or "HR Manager" positions.

Likewise, this description will be revised when required to meet current business needs.Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with managers to discuss needs.Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, recruiters, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport.Determines applicant requirements by studying job description and job qualifications.Attracts applicants by placing job advertisements, contacting recruiters, using newsgroups and job sites.Determines applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants; analyzing responses; verifying references; comparing qualifications to job requirements.Arranges management interviews by coordinating schedules; arranges travel, lodging, and meals; escorting applicant to interviews; arranging community tours.Evaluates applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers, interviewing applicants on consistent set of qualifications.Manages new employee onboarding activities.Conducts employment verifications.Improves organization attractiveness by recommending new policies and practices; monitoring job offers and compensation practices; emphasizing benefits and perks.Manages intern program by conducting orientations; scheduling rotations and assignments; monitoring intern job contributions; coaching interns; advising managers on training and coaching.Avoids legal challenges by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Accomplishes human resources and organization mission by completing related results as needed.Works proactively and with a sense of urgency to complete all tasks on-time.Ensures that all responsibilities and functions performed are in accordance with company and quality procedures as set forth in the Personnel Handbook.Supports the company emphasis on teamwork and cooperation to achieve our goals by performing other duties as assigned.Support other HR related functions and team members in completing tasks and projects.Complete other tasks as assigned by the Senior HR ManagerSkills and Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree preferred, previous human resources experience, and human resources aptitude/experience is highly preferred.Excellent organizational skills and detail-orientation required for completing required tasks and information system's inputs with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to multi-task.Candidates must be knowledgeable of all Federal and State employment laws.Must have excellent PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS.Strong Interpersonal skills.Strong customer service focus and professional attitude.Flexibility in work assignments and priorities is required to address the dynamic needs of our associates and shifts in production requirements.Strong verbal and written communication skills required, and proven experience with effective teams and continuous improvement methods strongly preferred.Extremely reliable and self-starter.Ability to deal sensitively with confidential information.Strong Recruitment and Job Interviewing ability.Analytical thinkingBasic Project Management and Process Improvement abilityWorking Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work during the hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.Must be capable and willing to work in excess of a normal workweek with notice, as outlined in the Personnel Handbook, as work level demands dictate.Must be able to identify, prioritize, and meet multiple expectations for area of responsibility.Must be able to use the Company's software efficiently and effectively.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Must be able to travel to company locations in both Kansas City, KS and Columbus, OH areas.
