Summary The selectee for this position will serve as a Security Assistant in the Ocean Engineering Department of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities The successful selectee will perform the following duties: Conducting inventories on classified material for accountability. Controlling documents containing personal or sensitive information to ensure proper protection and accountability. Generating security related statistical reports by manipulating information within an automated database. Establishing and maintaining files to collect information related to sensitive information. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector interpreting or applying security guidance to perform security assistant tasks in support of a security program for the protection of sensitive information and materials. For GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing security clerical or assistant tasks in support of a security program for the protection of sensitive information or materials. RESPONSIBILITIES: - You will assist the Ocean Engineering (OE) Security supervisor in liaison matters impacting OE security matters. - You will act as a classified material handler and document custodian. - You will assist in the implementation of physical security measures and countermeasures affecting the different OE facilities, high value material, and personnel. - You will act as an advisor to the OE Security Division Head, branch heads, other supervisors and managers, and other command personnel in emergency situations.
