Position SummaryOrganization Overview :
Women’s World Banking is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding economic opportunities for women by giving them access to the financial tools and resources they need to build secure livelihoods.
Position Overview and Context:
The Director of Individual Giving and Partnerships (the “Director”) will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Women’s World Banking, driving sustainable growth, and unlocking new opportunities for transformative impact. We seek an experienced major gifts officer who thrives on building and maintaining relationships with individuals in support of a meaningful cause.
In this role, the Director will oversee Individual Giving strategy and implementation to cultivate philanthropic support from individual donors.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesStrategic Planning & Innovative Program Development
Contribute to the development of long-term fundraising strategies and annual revenue targets.
Spearhead the creation and implementation of a leadership and major gifts program.
Oversee the annual fund program in collaboration with one direct report.
Partnership Cultivation and Portfolio Management
Forge and cultivate relationships with individuals aligned with our organizational mission.
Oversee all aspects of the donor lifecycle including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
Utilize donor management systems to track and analyze donor interactions.
Volunteer Leadership Engagement:
Develop and implement strategies to effectively engage and empower volunteers.
Events Strategy Execution:
Collaborate with the development team to plan and execute donor cultivation events.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
Utilize data analytics and donor research tools to refine strategies based on performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Minimum of ten years of experience in front-line fundraising.
Demonstrated experience in building and managing a major gift portfolio.
Strong understanding of fundraising principles and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to collaborate with executive and volunteer leadership.
Strong people manager with leadership and mentorship skills.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute fundraising strategies.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in CRM databases and fundraising software.
Commitment to the mission and values of Women’s World Banking.
Measure of SuccessWithin the first 75 days:
Develop a solid understanding of Women’s World Banking’s strategy and programmatic areas.
Familiarize yourself with the individual giving strategy and donor portfolio.
Build strong working relationships across functional teams.
Integrate the use of Women’s World Banking systems and policies into your activities.
