Spear Bio’s proprietary technology, Successive Proximity Extension Amplification Reaction (SPEAR), employs a unique 2-factor authentication mechanism to precisely measure protein biomarkers at attomolar levels from sub-microliter sample volume. As the company grows its team, Spear Bio is seeking highly driven, teamwork-oriented, and intellectually curious individuals who enjoy solving complex technical and commercial problems.We are looking to hire a Field Application Scientist. The Field Application Scientist is a core, individual contributing member of the Application Support team. The Application Support team is responsible for product and technical support of all Spear Bio solutions for customers and strategic partners – ensuring overall product performance in the field and customer success. The role reports directly to the Head of Application Support and will be a core member of the Commercial Team. The role will play an important part in pre- and post-sales activities, customer onboarding and training, and provide routine and ongoing product and technical support to customers. The Field Application Scientist will be expected to be an expert on the platform, the technology, and its applications.Responsibilities:
Supports day-to-day technical support and customer interactions to ensure customer success.Supports pre-sales activities by conducting presentations on Spear Bio products, technology, and platform to customers in support of business development and distribution partners.Performs laboratory experiments following defined protocols and company procedures for existing or new products in support of customer applications.Provides technical support to distribution partners and their application scientists and sales teams.Closely follows customer support processes and escalates complex product and application issues to the Application Support team leadership.Supports the development of technical customer content, including new data, application notes, workflows, and assay solutions, in collaboration with internal and external partners.Assists Application Support leadership in creating external technical documentation such as IFUs, product data sheets, and application Relays customer pain points and potential solutions as inputs of the new product development process.Maintains up-to-date knowledge on competitors and key applications.Represents Spear Bio at conferences, tradeshows, and academic lectures.Requirements:
PhD or MS in Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Bio-Engineering with strong immunoassay experience, and similarly relevant BS with >1-2 years’ life-science field applications experience.Good network in drug development, academic and contract research world is preferred.Strong understanding of immunoassay technologies, methods, and strategies.In-depth knowledge in immunology, oncology, or neurology preferred.General Requirements:
