We are focused on bringing to market a novel ultrasensitive immunoassay platform able of work with very small sample volumes. The commercial focus of the company is on supporting life sciences, clinical, and academic research.Our platform offers best-in-class sensitivity, lab-to-lab consistency, and flexibility.The Scientist/Senior Scientist, Assay Development will lead Spear Bio’s assay development activities and ensuring for our new range of ultrasensitive immunoassays. The role will have cross-functional responsibilities reporting to the Head/Director of Assay Development but also interfacing with platform and product development teams. The Scientist/Senior Scientist, Assay Development will be expected to have a strong track record in immunoassay development for research and clinical applications.Responsibilities:

Development of portfolio assays and will be involved in qualifying and/or validating Spear Bio’s assays for research and clinicalA subject matter expertise in the field of protein biomarkers for neurodegeneration or immuno- oncology is strongly preferred.Deep technical experience in multiple key technical aspects of immunoassay development; including but not limited to protein chemistry, antibody screening, antibody conjugation, assay diluent formulation; multiplexing; preanalytical sample processing; scale-up, assay optimization and troubleshooting; Real- Time PCR, immunoassays (immunoblotting and ELISAs), and gel-based assays (SDS-PAGE and CE-SDS); multivariate data analysis; analytical validation; clinical validation.Design and develop ELISA based assays for ultrasensitive detection of analytes, including antibody selection, conjugation of reagents and chemistries, sample preparation and handling, data analysis methodologies.Design and perform experiments to demonstrate feasibility and characterize performance and robustness (dynamic range, limit of detection, spike and recovery, precision, accuracy, and assay linearity) of ELISA based assays.Advanced understanding of ligand binding assays and diverse analytical formats and platforms including colorimetric/electrochemiluminescence/luminescence/fluorometry-based assays and experience with typical analytical systems, e.g. MSD, Molecular Devices, Luminex, Ella, Quanterix. Octet, Biacore.Contribute to scientific literature and conferences, internal reports, documents and communications including the writing and/or creation of abstracts, peer-reviewed journal articles, poster presentations, and marketing materials.Maintain familiarity with current technology related information and/or literature and conducts project related information searches and may be involved in extensive literature searches.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated knowledge of statistical methodologies including DoE Experience working within a cGMP/ GLP, and ISO regulated quality system.Requirements

Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related life science field with proven hands-on experience BS/MS with 8+years or Ph.D. with 2 years of relevant experience of immunoassay development experience in an industrial setting (e.g., IVD, clinical trials, contract research, or pharmaceutical/biotechnology).Oversees junior level staff to guide them on their projects.General requirements
