Scientist/Senior Scientist, Field Application
Spear Bio is a well-funded and rapidly growing start-up company based in Woburn, Massachusetts. We are focused on bringing to market a novel ultrasensitive immunoassay platform capable of utilizing small sample volumes with excellent data quality.Reporting to the Head of Platform Development, the Field Application Scientist is responsible for ensuring the success of Spear Bio customers by supporting their training, facilitating the adoption of the assay, and providing technical assistance. This role is commercial and outward-facing. Hence, the scientist will participate in pre-sales activities, including presenting the technology and its applications. In addition, the scientist will develop relationships with key customers and KOLs and generate data and application notes for the sales process.Responsibilities:
Drive the pre-sales process with presentations and demos its workflow to potential customers.Own customer success by providing training, support, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.Collaborate with external partners, customers, and KOLs to develop new application notes, workflows, and assay solutions.Relay customer information/VOC to the Marketing and Product Development teams.Act as a thought leader and represent Spear Bio at conferences, tradeshows, and academic lectures.Be a team player, collaborating across the organization to ensure successful growth and adoption of Spear Bio technologies.This role is onsite and involves up to 25% travel.Requirements
Ph.D. in life sciences, biomedical engineering, biophysics, or a related field; 1+ years of industry experience are preferred.Previous application and/or customer support experience.Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills required.Direct experience in immunoassay method development, optimization, and data analysis.Advanced understanding and experience in ultra-sensitive immunoassay platforms.Proven capacity to work independently, exhibiting a well-calibrated sense of urgency in task execution.Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage and organize work around multiple and changing priorities.We offer competitive compensation, with meaningful stock ownership, strong benefits, and a great work environment.
