Job SummaryThis position is in Region 8, Superfund and Emergency Management Division, Remedial Branch, Remedial Section D. This is an office-centered position; you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. Be EPA.Major Duties:Determine appropriate cleanup actions, methods, and tools for toxic and hazardous waste sites.Direct contractual work efforts in cases where EPA must assume the cleanup duties to assure that federal funds are properly expended and that contractors are utilized effectively and efficiently.Serve as a resource for complex site situations that involve toxic and hazardous waste cleanup.Participate in or monitor enforcement activities.Perform community relations activities within a public forum as a representative of the Agency.Education:You must have a bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position; OR a combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major, as listed.Requirements:You will be required to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and must be able to operate a Government-owned or leased motor vehicle.If selected, you will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure form within 30 days of your first day of employment and annually thereafter.This position requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).You may be required to complete a one-year probationary period.How to Apply:This is an interdisciplinary position (i.e., more than one possible series/title), and you will only be evaluated/considered for the series you select during the application process.
