Job Summary : Maintains restaurant compliance to security and safety policies and procedures through regular on-site evaluations. Responds to incidents of crime, which occur in the area and participates with local law enforcement agencies in the investigation of such incidents.

Essential Job Functions:

Visits restaurants and documents the results of the visit in order to monitor compliance to safety and security policies and procedures. Reviews results with Regional Director of Loss Prevention, Market Director, and Area Supervisor.

Responds to incidents of crime reported/possible internal issues, coordinates investigations and provides support for colleagues and customers.

Investigates incidents in a timely manner. Prepares criminal loss report and investigation summary and informs Regional Director of Loss Prevention. Submits criminal loss weekly and period end reports to the Regional Director of Loss Prevention, Market Directors and Zone Vice President.

Follows up on incidents by providing assistance to colleagues in the criminal justice process and maintains contact with colleagues and agencies as necessary to complete investigation.

Maintains accurate documents on all investigations until file is completed and incident is closed.

Recovers restitution voluntarily or through court order.

Attends manager meetings and coordinates monthly classroom instruction sessions with Recruiter/Trainer in order to present Loss Prevention programs.

Investigates foreign object reports and documents findings and communicates with Risk Management.

Investigates and enforces all cash management related issues.

Conducts regular market visits.

Investigates other incidents as directed, e.g., sexual harassment, accidents, etc.

Supplemental Job Functions:

Identifies restaurants with a need for special security equipment. Installs and maintains such equipment, e.g., CCTV, alarms, etc.

Establishes and maintains professional relationships with law enforcement agencies and affiliates oneself with professionals in area crime prevention groups.

Performs minor repairs and develops a preventative maintenance plan for restaurant safes.

Periodically attends Loss Prevention-oriented conferences, seminars, and workshops to keep abreast of innovations technology.

Communicates with other departments and outside contacts as needed.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Five (5) to eight (8) years experience in Multi-unit retail or restaurant loss prevention manager role or five (5) to eight (8) years experience with public law enforcement agency.

Strong working knowledge of criminal and civil codes dealing with private sector security policies and procedures.

The ability to travel extensively (up to 75%).

Strong supervisory and training ability.

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.

Experience and/or training in the field of interview and interrogation.

Proof of and maintain a valid operator’s license, automobile insurance as a primary driver, as well as, a reliable means of transportation to carry out essential job functions, in accordance with company policy and procedures.

Must pass a criminal background check in accordance with company policy and periodically checked thereafter.

Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends.

Must possess a valid credit card in own name.

Be available and on call 24 hours a day.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor’s degree in security management or criminal justice.

Demonstrated supervisory and training ability.

Working knowledge of retail/restaurant point-of-sale systems.

College level coursework and professional training certifications in security management or criminal justice.

Experience in restaurant operations and management.

Working Conditions:

Exposure to travel elements airplane and automobile.
