This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.Position Summary:The Director, Safety is responsible for leading the safety performance of the assigned territory by integrating culture, technology, data, wellness, and safety. This position mitigates risk and promotes safety programs by developing, implementing, and evaluating safety and prevention programs that encourage team members and their families to focus on healthy living and safe work practices.Position Responsibilities:Establish a safety culture through engagement at all levels.Lead and develop a team of safety professionals.Oversee safety and compliance programs, acting as the key contact for regulatory visits.Develop, maintain, and deploy SOPs related to EHS.Implement technology and regulatory reporting as required.Perform or coordinate audits/risk assessments to identify gaps and champion corrective actions.Track and analyze safety metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.Support new initiatives to enhance safety performance and risk reduction.Manage incident reporting and investigation processes.Review monthly program outcomes and recommend enhancements.Travel up to 50% as required.Other projects or duties as assigned.Required Skills and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Risk Management, or related field.At least 8 years of safety management experience.Experience leading safety in multi-facility operations.Experience in distribution or manufacturing settings.Capability to lead and develop a safety culture.OSHA, DOT, and EPA experience.Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Ability to facilitate training for all levels of employees.Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines.Able to work independently and collaboratively.Must pass a post-offer background and drug test.Preferred Skills and Experience:Safety Certification: CSHM, CSP, ASP, etc.Strong knowledge of CalOSHA and CUPA regulatory standards.Experience within large warehouse or distribution operations.Physical Demands and Work Environment:Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
