Overview:
The Hotel Director of Sales is a pivotal role within the hospitality industry, responsible for driving revenue through effective sales strategies while also overseeing the front desk operations. This position requires a blend of sales insight, leadership skills, and operational expertise to ensure that both sales targets and guest satisfaction levels are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development:
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to maximize revenue across all hotel segments, including corporate, leisure, group bookings, and events.
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and adjust strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with marketing teams to create promotional campaigns that align with sales objectives.
Team Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and collective goals.
Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team’s selling skills and product knowledge.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and high performance.
Front Desk Management:
Oversee front desk operations and scheduling to ensure exceptional guest service is delivered consistently.
Implement standard operating procedures for check-in/check-out processes, reservations management, and guest inquiries.
Monitor front desk performance metrics such as occupancy rates, average daily rate (ADR), and guest satisfaction scores.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel agents, corporate accounts, and event planners.
Conduct site visits for potential clients to showcase hotel facilities and services.
Address guest concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and foster loyalty.
Financial Management:
Provide regular reports on sales performance metrics to management.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
Work closely with other departments such as housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance to ensure seamless operations that enhance guest experiences.
Participate in cross-departmental meetings to align on service delivery standards.
Market Research & Analysis:
Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed about industry trends, customer preferences, and competitive positioning.
Utilize data analytics tools to assess performance metrics and inform decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel sales or a similar role; experience leading front desk operations is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of hotel management software (PMS) systems such as Opera or similar platforms.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
Proven track record of achieving sales targets in a competitive environment.
Skills Required:
