Litigation Associate

We are excited to offer a position at our AmLaw 50 firm in Tampa, Florida for a Junior to Mid-Level Commercial Litigation Associate. This role will immerse you in complex business litigation across a multitude of sectors, allowing you to handle cases from inception to resolution within both state and federal courts. As an invaluable member of our Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group, you will actively contribute to the strategic goals of the Litigation Department in a sophisticated, collegial environment. Ideal candidates should demonstrate a high level of professionalism, competence in litigation, and a commitment to professional growth.

Compensation:

$240,000.00 - $310,000.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conducting and managing written and document discovery essential for developing case strategies.

Researching and drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other critical court filings to effectively represent our clients.

Conducting and defending depositions to gather and provide crucial case information.

Preparing witnesses for testimony to ensure reliable and clear communication of facts and strategies.

Appearing for status conferences and arguing motions to progress the case and represent client interests in court.

Engaging in mediation, settlement conferences, and negotiations to seek resolution before trial.

Handling arbitration procedures and trial preparations, ensuring comprehensive preparation for all aspects of the court proceedings.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in business litigation.

Strong familiarity with complex legal practices and procedures within state and federal courts.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Graduate of an ABA-approved law school and holding a valid J.D.

Active membership and good standing with the Florida Bar.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience with an AmLaw 100 firm is highly beneficial.

Proven track record in managing multiple cases efficiently under tight deadlines.

Experience in supporting or leading trial teams from pre-trial through to verdict.

Skills:

Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.

Proven ability in substantial legal research and negotiations.

Ability to function independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Adept at navigating complex negotiations and mediations.

Robust interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with colleagues, clients, and court officials successfully.
