Business Litigation Associate

We are actively seeking a highly capable Business Litigation Associate to join our prestigious national law firm based in Tampa or Miami, Florida. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing complex business litigation cases, focusing on medical malpractice and professional liability. Compensation:

$155,000.00 - $180,000.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of business litigation cases from inception through resolution

Draft, review, and file critical legal documents such as motions, briefs, and other litigation-related filings

Provide insightful legal analyses and strategies for complex business litigation cases

Argue motions and represent clients in federal and state courts

Work closely with expert witnesses in preparation for or during trials

Interact with clients and maintain positive relationships while developing litigation strategies tailored to client needs

Prepare for and assist in conducting trials, including presenting cases and managing courtroom dynamics

Ensure adherence to court deadlines and coordinate with legal support teams for thorough case preparation

Minimum Position Qualifications:

JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record

Active Florida Bar license

3 to 5 years of substantive business litigation experience, including direct courtroom exposure

Proven capability in taking and defending depositions

Experience arguing motions in federal and state courts and working with expert witnesses

Preferred Qualifications:

Law review or federal, Florida state, or appellate clerkship experience

Proven track record of successful case management and trial outcomes

Skills:

Strong legal research and writing capabilities

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Proficient in handling and prioritizing multiple ongoing cases
