Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems invites applications for a Sr Principal Engineer Software - Global Integration SME (24-347) position, a crucial role for maintaining our technological edge in defense systems. This job is based at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO, and requires a professional adept in software testing, engineering, and integration.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight.

Essential Functions:

Integrating JEMINI Lab test suites in a development lab setting.

Assisting software development staff with issue investigation and resolution.

Creating and modifying scripts for data analysis related to system messaging.

Troubleshooting test and prototype issues and developing necessary procedures.

Automating scripts to configure and maintain remote hosts.

Reviewing system specifications, development, test, and network documents and providing feedback while representing the Integration team.

The position is subject to a rotating schedule and might require working in shifts.

Basic Qualifications:

9 years' experience with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 7 years' experience with a master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field.

Must possess a

DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher

(Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)

Proficiency in Linux and scripting languages like Bash and Python.

Understanding of automation and its implementation in software testing environments.

Proficiency in troubleshooting and familiarity with virtualized environments.

Experience in system components integration within test environments.

Hands-on experience with DoD integration processes and familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.

An active

Secret

clearance is required, with a

Top Secret

clearance preferred.

Technical Skill Required:

Expertise in Ansible or other automation tools.

Experience with virtualized systems, security design, and implementation.

Acknowledged competence in software testing and engineering.

Background Experience Required:

Proven experience as a Software Tester/Integrator.

Ability to set up, configure, and maintain databases.

Knowledge of Containerized Virtual Environments.

Experience with Windows Server and PowerShell scripting.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current active Top Secret clearance is highly desired.

Developing scripts in Ansible.

Skilled in working with Containerized Virtual Environments and automated test tools.

Salary Range:

$121,000 - $181,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
